Four adults were arrested for cruelty to juveniles after children were exposed to illegal drugs in their home, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

All of the adults and two children, ages 18 months and 11 years, lived at 8386 Crouch Dam Road in Mooringsport. The location was the site of a narcotics investigation in July, during which the two adult males, Jerry Oliver Jr. and Richard Burroughs, were arrested on drug charges.

During the July drug investigation agents found active meth labs at Burroughs’ Crouch Dam Road residence and the ingredients to make meth at a trailer on Jack Todd Road belonging to Oliver.

The children were taken into state custody and tested for exposure to illegal drugs and the chemicals used to manufacture meth. Based on those results, all four adults were charged with cruelty to juveniles.

Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Dorothy Brooks arrested Tonya Knowles, 35, and Michele Kerry, 46, both of 8386 Crouch Dam Road, and booked them into the Caddo Correctional Center.

Oliver, 42, and Burroughs, 45, were already in CCC where the additional cruelty charges were added.
