Caddo deputies spread Christmas cheer

Caddo Sheriff's deputies spread Christmas cheer throughout the parish over the past weeks making deliveries to hospitals, shelters, families in need, and others.

Among those benefiting from the Caddo Sheriff's Office's donations this year were the Gingerbread House, Salvation Army Angel Tree, St. Jude Children's Hospital, students from JS Clark Middle School, local animal shelters, Jewell House, Hope Connection, Willis Knighton Cancer Center, and Geaux Bags.

"These donations come from our employees who choose, along with co-workers in the area where they work, charities they would like to support," said Sheriff Steve Prator. "Many times there is a special connection, maybe a family member who received treatment at a certain hospital or a group that truly loves animals. Sometimes we hear of a family that has been going through a really hard time, and it makes us feel good to be able to help them.

"Our deputies truly have servants' hearts, not only at Christmas but year-round, and I'm very proud of them," he said.

Sheriff's Deputy John Phelan was there to capture the activity over the past two weeks. You can see his video here:  https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vdygv0h7ar4skzr/AAAQx9Og23QYanyguxAg2AVza?dl=0
