A Shreveport man who was arrested Monday following a foot pursuit with deputies has now been charged with multiple burglaries, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Darryl Glynn McNeely, 51, was arrested in the 6200 block of Buncombe Road after a citizen reported seeing him near her property acting suspiciously. Patrol deputies and detectives connected the suspicious persons call to a suspect they had previously been searching for in connection with multiple break-ins in the Hickory Ridge/Meriwether Road area.

McNeely is charged with three counts of burglary for break-ins in occupied and unoccupied residences in the 3300 block of Meriwether, the 3200 block of Hickory Ridge, and the 3300 block of Hickory Ridge. Items stolen included jewelry, a bicycle, knives, firearms, belt buckles, and baseball cards. Many of the stolen items were located in a wooded area near where the burglaries occurred and also in the residence where he was arrested. All of the burglaries are believed to have occurred in January.

The cases were investigated by Caddo Sheriff’s Detectives Davis Romero, Matthew Lucky, Jason Morgan, and Russell Hicks. The Caddo Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and U.S. Marshal's Task Force also assisted with the arrest.

McNeely was booked into Caddo Correctional Center on Monday for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and for outstanding warrants in Rapides Parish. Burglary charges were added on Wednesday. Additional charges are pending.
