Caddo Sheriff’s deputies arrested two people on Wednesday for robbing a man during the sale of a handgun, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

The robbery occurred around 5 p.m. at a church in the 1800 block of Pinehill Road. The victim, an 18-year-old man, had arranged to meet the seller to purchase a .40 caliber Glock pistol after seeing on Snapchat that the gun was for sale.

The seller, a 16-year-old juvenile, was driven to the church by Nicholas Allen, 18, of Shreveport. When the victim and the juvenile got out of their vehicles to make the transaction, the juvenile produced the gun and robbed the victim of $300. He and Allen then fled the scene.

Minutes later, Sheriff’s Cpl. Adam Jacobo spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspects’ car. With assistance from Blanchard Police Officer Joey Hester, Jacobo conducted a traffic stop on Blanchard Latex Road and took Allen into custody. After further investigation, Sheriff’s Cpl. James Norwood located the juvenile suspect and the pistol in an apartment in the 4500 block of North Market.  The case was investigated by Detective Matthew Lucky.

Both Allen and the juvenile were arrested for armed robbery. Allen was also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and possession of marijuana. A second juvenile who was in Allen’s car was released without charges.
