About the Narcotics Unit. . .
The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office and Shreveport Police Department merged their narcotic units in 2004, creating the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit. The unit is responsible for drug enforcement throughout Caddo Parish. Deputies and police officers are assigned to the street-level and mid-level investigative units. Deputies also are assigned to the DEA Task Force, FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, and Ark-La-Tex Narcotics Task Force.

Agents investigate all types of drug offenses, including the purchase and distribution of cocaine and marijuana, but because of the rural environment of Caddo Parish, considerable attention is given to investigations involving the manufacture of methamphetamine.
