The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office has attempted to have a model agency, with representation of all citizens and has structured itself to be a vital partner with the community. Citizens' Advisory Com-mittees, made up of a cross-section of residents, work closely with our Patrol Division to assure that the needs of the citizens we serve are being met.

Furthering our efforts, we have created a spirit-of-service culture in which sensitivity and problem-solving pervade all that we do.

Across our country, most law enforcement agencies operate under "call prioritization" and do not respond unless there is a crime in progress. At the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, we continue to respond to all calls with the appropriate action. Our goal is to differentiate ourselves from other law enforcement agencies and to have a listening, sensitive ear to our citizens and our employees.

-- Marshall W. Nelson

Assistant Chief of Operations
