Jail Security
The Caddo Correctional Center has been in operation for two years. The Security Division has met the expectations and needs of the citizens it serves, and calmed the "safety" fear and concerns of the surrounding residential neighborhood.
The Security Division, the largest division in the Sheriff's Office, currently has 165 deputy sheriffs assigned to it.
Jail Security has gone through an upgrade. Administration had the insight and direction to understand the need to maintain a high level of commitment to the goals of law enforcement, specifically corrections.
Through continuous training, the Detention Bureau has implemented a computerized inmate tracking system and the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), thus keeping CCC on the leading edge of jail inmate management.
Jail Security has emphasized training focused on the safe and effective solutions and challenges of a constantly changing inmate population. The division is also emphasizing strict adherence to policy and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operation of this "new generation" facility.
Long-range objectives include a more emphasis on initial staffing and employee retention. Keeping well-trained and experienced deputies will meet changing personnel resource allocations to address staff and inmate requirements and satisfy citizen concerns.
