Four teenagers are under arrest for a number of burglaries and other crimes in south Caddo Parish, and detectives say their investigation is far from over.

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator said the Sheriff’s Office first began receiving reports of vehicle burglaries on Haywood Drive in Keithville on October 1. Handguns, electronics, money, and car accessories were stolen. There were also reports of car break-ins on Southern Ridge, Colquitt Road, and in south Shreveport near the same time.

On October 3, CPSO detectives and patrol deputies got two breaks in the case. Around 1:30 a.m., Cpl. Richard Porter attempted to stop a GMC pickup on Hwy. 171. The driver of the truck fled at a high rate of speed, sometimes traveling up to 100 mph. The driver ran several stop signs and crossed the center line numerous times. He ultimately lost control of the truck and flipped the vehicle on Williams Road. Deputies later learned the truck was stolen from Windbrooke Drive.

Two people were taken into custody. Driver Colton Pair, 18, of Keithville, was arrested for DWI, aggravated flight, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of a stolen firearm. Passenger Ahmed Mir, 17, of Bossier City, was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm.

During the investigation, it was determined that both Pair and Mir were suspects in numerous car burglaries that had occurred in the area. A bag of stolen items was also found in the stolen truck.

About 12 hours later, deputies were dispatched to the 12000 block of Crest Drive in Keithville where a burglary suspect walked in on a homeowner. That suspect was identified as Dalton Singletary, 17, of Stonewall.  Singletary, along with a 15-year-old male and a female runaway, was staying at a makeshift camp across the street on Crest Drive. Deputies went to the camp and found the juvenile asleep in a tent with a stolen, loaded handgun under his air mattress.  The juvenile was identified as a relative of Pair’s.

Deputies said all of the suspects - Pair, Mir, Singletary, and the juvenile - were identified in a picture obtained by patrol deputies where the suspects were photographed posing with stolen guns.

In addition to the earlier charges, Pair faces nine counts of simple burglary. Singletary, Mir, and the juvenile face six counts each of simple burglary.

The investigation is continuing. More arrests and charges are expected.
