Seven deputies promoted

Seven Caddo deputies were promoted during a ceremony this morning at the Sheriff’s Office Re-Entry Facility.

Demetria Parker was promoted to captain; Alfred Dinkins, lieutenant; Tamika Brewer, Frank Edmondson, Pam Purgerson, and Mike Vaitkus, sergeant; and Precious Marshall, Tele-communications Officer II.

Parker oversees the Sheriff’s Work Release program. She joined the Caddo Sheriff’s Office in February 2000 and has worked in a number of areas at the Correctional Center, including Booking, Security, Classifications, Detention Records, and Special Investigations.

Dinkins joined the Sheriff’s Office in December 1992. He has worked in Corrections, Patrol, Security, Grievance, and is now a lieutenant in Security.

Brewer was hired as a Security Deputy in March 2007. She has also worked on Patrol. She is now a sergeant in Security.

Edmondson was hired in January 1997. He has worked as a Security Deputy, Patrol Deputy, and financial crimes detective. He now serves as a Patrol Sergeant.  

Purgerson joined the Sheriff’s Office in January 1999. She has worked as a Security Deputy, in Court Holding, and in Traffic Safety. She is now a Patrol Sergeant.

Vaitkus was hired in July 1997. He has worked as a Corrections Deputy, Patrol Deputy, and in the Traffic Safety Unit, where he now serves as sergeant.

Marshall joined the Sheriff’s Office in October 2010. She is a Tele-Communications Officer in the Communications Division.

Sheriff Prator also recognized 17 deputies for their years of service with the department. They are: Lizzie Carthern, Gwendolyn Mason, Bryan Gamble, LaQuinta Lyons, Tabatha Starr, and Myles Moore, five years; Jessica Benevage, Timothy Johns, Thomas Lites, Mary Barnes, and Keith Fox, 10 years; Eric Mayes, Carlos Walker, James L. Harris Jr., Marvin Graves, James M. Guerrero, 15 years; and Philip Escude’, 30 years.
