Law enforcement graduation to be held today

Graduation exercises for the 22nd basic training class of the Caddo Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy will take place at 4 p.m. today, August 11, at Summer Grove Baptist Church. Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator will be the guest speaker. 

Graduates will take the oath of office, receive their badges, and participate in a special ceremony where family and friends assist them with pinning on their badges for the first time. 

Class participants received 320 hours or more of peace officer training in areas including law, patrol activities, traffic services, report writing, investigations, firearms, first aid, and criminal justice. 

Graduates of the Academy are Tana Wilder and Cleveland Douglas, Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office; James Barnes, Matthew Barnette, and Seth Humble, Minden Police Department; Nichols S. Ellis, Vivian Police Department; Jason L. Griffin and Leonard Sarpy, Northwestern State University Police Department; James Kyles, Quentin Mitchell, and Jeremy Nelson, Bossier City Police Department; Joseph P. Montondo, Webster Parish Sheriff's Office; Howard Quarles, Hodge Police Department; Darrell Wall, Oil City Police Department; Melinda Woodley, DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office; and Jermaine C. Wyatt, Probation and Parole, Office of Youth Development.
