A Shreveport man was issued a misdemeanor summons for hit and run driving after he struck a riding mower being operated by a 67-year-old woman.

Mary Gordon said she was mowing a friend's yard on LA 173 when she saw a car approaching. Gordon said she made sure she was not on the road, and when she looked up, the vehicle struck her mower spinning it around. She was not injured, but the mower was damaged. The car did not stop.

Caddo Deputy Chad Davis spotted the car a short while later in a convenience store parking lot in the 4400 block of Hilry Huckaby Avenue. The driver, Stewart Lagrone, 36, was changing a flat tire. The car was dented and scratched, and Lagrone later admitted hitting someone on a mower.
