Caddo deputies responded to a vehicle losing control this morning on LA 3132, where an adult and an infant passenger were ejected from the vehicle, said Sheriff Steve Prator. 

Around 8:25 this morning, Caddo Deputy Joshua Grimes saw a vehicle lose control in traffic and roll several times down the embankment. The vehicle was traveling eastbound on LA 3132 and left the roadway just east of West 70th. Deputy Grimes responded and found an infant and a female adult ejected from the vehicle. A nurse also saw the crash and responded down the embankment with Deputy Grimes. The infant was found conscience and breathing. Deputy Grimes had to performed CPR on the adult until the Shreveport Fire Department arrived. Both were transported to University Health. The adult was being treated for life threatening injuries. 

The crash is being investigated by the Traffic Safety Unit. According to Sheriff’s Investigator Sgt. Mike Vaitkus, the roadway did not have ice on it and weather was not a factor.

**Update

The occupants have been identified as Destini Ruffins, 23, of Shreveport along with her 12 month old son, Noah Mayhorn. Ruffins is in critical condition. Her son is being treated for minor injuries. Both are being treated at University Health in Shreveport.
