A 21-year-old Bossier City man is in jail charged with theft for stealing from the company where he was employed, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Between September and December of 2017, James Patrick Murphy was working as a salesman for Gemco Portable Buildings on Stagecoach Road in Keithville.  It was discovered Murphy was stealing from the company by accepting payments for buildings purchased by customers, not reporting the sales, and keeping the funds for himself. The loss was over $16,000.

Murphy was arrested by the Caddo Sheriff’s Warrants Division on a warrant obtained by Detective Robert Presley. He was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for theft. Bond has been set at $100,000.
