A bundle of marijuana weighing 17 pounds was seized during a drug investigation in south Shreveport on Tuesday, according to Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator and Shreveport Police Chief Alan Crump.

Members of the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit, along with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, conducted a search warrant at 417 Brushy Bayou and made contact with Anthony W. Murray inside the residence. During a search of the residence, agents seized the marijuana, $8,545 in cash, and a handgun. The street value of the marijuana is estimated at $174,493.

Murray, 46, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for distribution of schedule I, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
