A Vivian man was arrested Saturday in connection with a traffic crash that left a woman dead, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Daniel McBride and his passenger, Sonja Martin, were traveling west on Georgia Street when McBride failed to yield to a vehicle that had the right of way on Spruce Street. Martin, 34, was injured in the crash and was taken to North Caddo Hospital in Vivian where she later died.

McBride, 35, was treated at University Health. Deputies said he was impaired at the time of the crash and was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for vehicular homicide and first-degree negligent injury.

The driver of the second vehicle, Tristen Owens, no DOB or address available, was injured in the crash and was treated at North Caddo Hospital. 

Assisting with the investigation were Lt. Mike Gray, Sgt. James Moore, Deputy Vincent Jackson, and Deputy Magalene Boykin of the Caddo Sheriff's Office.
