Caddo Sheriff's Deputy Jeremy L. Prudhome was honored as Louisiana’s 40 & 8 Law Officer of the Year Sunday at the organization’s Grand Promenade in Lafayette, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Deputy Prudhome was selected from nominees throughout the state after receiving the local Law Officer of the Year Award for Voiture Locale 137 in Shreveport in March. He represented the entire Shreveport-Bossier area in the state competition.

Deputy Prudhome is a seven-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office. He has worked in Corrections, Patrol, and recently was transferred to the Criminal Investigations Division as a detective. He has been a CPSO Field Training Officer and twice was named Deputy of the Month. While serving as a patrol deputy in the South Sector of Caddo Parish, he led the sector in arrests, assist calls, traffic stops, and narcotics seizures on a regular basis.

Deputy Prudhome is part of the CPSO Mobile Field Force, a mutual aid team that responds to demonstrations, protests and public unrest.  In July 2016, he was deployed to East Baton Rouge Parish to lend support to law enforcement during civil unrest in the capitol city.  He is also a member of the CPSO Hazardous Materials Team which responds to and investigates hazmat leaks and spills involving trains, tankers and industrial sites.

Deputy Prudhome is married to Emily McDonald Prudhome and they have two daughters.
