Caddo Sheriff announces nine promotions

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator will recognize nine employees with promotions and others for their years of service to the Sheriff’s Office during a ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at the Re-Entry Facility on Forum Drive.

Deputies who will be promoted are: Bobby Herring and Sharon Piggs to captain; James Houston, Richard Jennings, John May, and Robert Montoya to lieutenant; and Earl Hawthorn, Jason Morgan, and Andy Scoggins to sergeant.

Herring is a 19-year deputy who has worked in Corrections, Patrol, and Detectives. He has served on the U.S. Secret Service Task Force and the FBI Joint Task Force. He currently serves as the captain of the Criminal Investigations Division.

Piggs is a 24-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office and has worked in Corrections, Baliffs, and Classification. She is currently the captain of Personnel/Internal Affairs.

Houston has worked for the Sheriff’s Office for 23 years. He has served in Corrections, Patrol, and at the Training Academy. He has been a member of the Emergency Response Team at Caddo Correctional Center and the Special Response Team. He is the lieutenant over the Patrol Division’s south sector.

Jennings is the lieutenant over the Patrol Division’s north sector. He has been a deputy for 26 years and has served in Corrections, Patrol, Transportation, DARE, and Investigations/Youth Services.

May is also a 26-year deputy and has served in Corrections, Patrol, Internal Affairs, Criminal Investigations, and Special Investigations, where is currently a lieutenant.

Montoya has been a deputy with the Sheriff’s Office for 19 years. He has worked in Corrections, Compliance, and Detention Administration. He is currently the lieutenant in Detention.

Hawthorn is a 6-year deputy. He has served in Corrections and Booking, where he is currently the sergeant.

Morgan has been employed by the Sheriff’s Office for 27 years. He has worked in Corrections, Patrol, and Criminal Investigations, where he is currently the sergeant.

Scoggins is the sergeant in Criminal Investigations/Youth Services. He has served with the Sheriff’s Office for 22 years and has also worked in Corrections and Patrol.

Employees being  recognized for their years of service are: Kerry Bridges, William Carey, Charles Daniels, Lakeshia Green, Marcus Jeansonne, Michael McConnell, Walter Roquemore, and Daniel Sheen, five years; Marcus Hays and Pamela Lamay, 10 years; Paula Flournoy and Carla Strogen, 20 years; Janice Abraham and Scott Miller, 30 years.
