Nevada scammer strikes again

MAY, JR, WADE
DOB: 12/23/1977
Race: B   Sex: M
Height: 5.09   Weight: 272

A Nevada man who was out on bond after committing financial crimes in Shreveport is back in jail for more of the same offenses, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Wade May, Jr., 40, of Las Vegas, was arrested by Detective Jeremy Edward on Monday and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for defrauding a local credit union of $7,500 in December. He was booked into jail for bank fraud.

May is accused of getting a cash advance on a reloadable pay card that had either a zero or negative balance.  To carry out the scheme, he called an impersonator who acted as a representative of the pay card company.  The impersonator authorized the transaction by providing an approval code.

Edward previously arrested May in February for defrauding a different credit union of $32,000 with the same scam. He was out on bond after failing to appear in court when he committed his most recent offense.

His total bond on all pending charges is now $291,000.
