CPSO investigating fatal crash

Two suspects who fled the scene of a burglary earlier this evening were involved in a crash that left one of them dead, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

The incident began just after 6 p.m. when a woman arrived at her house in the 17000 block of Munnerlyn Chapel Road in north Caddo Parish and found a man and a woman on the front porch. The couple jumped in a tan Buick and fled the scene with the man behind the wheel. They traveled northbound on Atlanta-Mira Road and ran a stop sign at its intersection with Hwy. 168, colliding with an eastbound Dodge Journey.

The driver of the Buick was deceased at the scene. The passenger in the Buick was taken by Fire District 8 to North Caddo Medical Center in Vivian and was later airlifted to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana. Her condition is not known.

The female driver of the Dodge Journey and two juvenile passengers were taken by Fire District 8 to University Health in Shreveport with moderate injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Caddo Sheriff's Office Patrol Division. The names of those involved have not yet been confirmed or released.
