A south Louisiana man is accused of overcharging a buyer for tickets to the College National Championship football game, said Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator.

The victim, who is from Shreveport, told Caddo deputies that he purchased a pair of tickets in section 104 of the Mercedes Benz Superdome from Michael Dean Simmons at a cost of $3,654.  When he arrived at the game to collect his tickets, Simmons presented him with tickets in section 647.  The victim refused the tickets, and Simmons would not refund the money.

An investigation by Det. Jeremy Edward determined the price of one ticket in section 647 for the LSU vs. Clemson game was $525. He obtained an arrest warrant for Simmons for Felony Theft in the amount of $2,604.

Simmons, 37, of Lafayette, turned himself in at the Caddo Correctional Center today. Bond was set at $15,000.
