A memorial service for Caddo Sheriff’s Auxiliary Deputy Lonnie L. Thacker, Sr., will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31, at Calvary Baptist Church, 9333 Linwood Avenue. A memorial reception will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the Moose Lodge of Shreveport, 9113 Industrial Road.

A memorial display honoring Deputy Thacker has also been established at the Caddo Sheriff’s south substation, 9956 Mansfield Road.

Deputy Thacker died Friday when his patrol vehicle was struck by an oncoming vehicle while he was assisting with traffic at the scene of an earlier accident on I-49 northbound.
