Caddo detectives arrest teenager for terrorizing

SHREVEPORT, La. – A social media threat has led to the overnight arrest of a teenager, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Around 10 p.m. on Sunday, Caddo Sheriff’s Youth Services Detective Cpl. Thomas Lites received a report about a gang-related social media post threatening gun violence at Southwood High School.

Cpl. Lites’ investigation helped to identify a 14-year-old male student as the owner of the social media account.

The teenager was taken in for questioning and arrested at 2 a.m. on Monday. He is charged with terrorizing and was booked into the Caddo Juvenile Detention Center.

This comes after several fights at the school last week resulted in multiple arrests.

“There is no room for gang fights and violence in our schools,” Sheriff Prator said. “Students that want an education should be provided an environment conducive for education.”

Due to ongoing security concerns, additional Caddo Sheriff’s Office deputies will continue to patrol the school campus.
