CADDO PARISH, La. – Christopher Basco, 36, has been booked into Harrison County Jail following a high-speed chase and shooting on I-20, said Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator.

Just before 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call about a trespasser at a business in the 7300 block of Julie Frances Drive in West Caddo Parish. Minutes later, CPSO Deputy Adam Jacobo arrived at the business where he found Basco on his motorcycle. Dep. Jacobo attempted to make contact with the suspect. That’s when Basco pointed a gun at him and took off.

CPSO Deputies and Greenwood Police Department chased Basco on I-20 westbound at speeds of about 110 to 120 mph. Basco started firing shots at officers just before they crossed the border into Texas striking a Greenwood Police Officer’s windshield.

Basco eventually made a U-turn under the bridge and headed back east on I-20 before pulling over on the shoulder and giving up at around mile marker 600, just east of Longview, Texas where he was arrested by Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies.

Basco was booked into Harrison County Jail and charged with evading arrest detention with vehicle. Caddo Parish Sheriff's detectives are investigating the incident. Basco will be extradited back to Caddo Parish to face charges.
