Arrest made in deadly hit and run

A Shreveport woman has been arrested following the death of a cyclist over the weekend, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

On Sunday, Oct. 30, 24-year-old Victoria Woodfork turned herself in to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office.  Evidence found by Caddo deputies at the crash site during the initial investigation matched Woodfork's car. The follow up investigation confirmed that she was driving her black Kia Forte in the 200 block of Mayo Road at around 10:40 p.m. on Saturday when she hit a cyclist. She did not stop to render aid or call for help. The homeless cyclist later died in the hospital.

Woodfork was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center charged with hit and run driving. No bond has been set.
