A Keithville man has been arrested for punching and choking his girlfriend over the span of two days, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

On Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 11:32 p.m. the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 9900 block of Mansfield Road in reference to a domestic battery. The victim reported her boyfriend, Emmanuel Reyes, 30, punched and choked her the previous day at their home in the 2600 block of Barron Road, during an argument. Afterwards, Reyes reportedly assaulted her sexually. One of their young children was home during the incident but was unharmed.

The abuse continued the following day at their place of work in the 9400 block of Forbing Road, where Reyes again hit her in reference to the same argument. They left work together and he continued to hit her in the face and choke her as he drove out of the parking lot. They stopped in the 9900 block of Mansfield Road, where the beating continued. Reyes thought he heard police sirens, so he got out of the car and ran off. The sheriff’s office was called for help at that time and an investigation was launched.

During the investigation, Sheriff’s Detective Demetrice Adams-Ellis was unable to locate Reyes. On December 12, she obtained a warrant for his arrest for one count each of domestic abuse battery with strangulation and domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.

On February 10, Reyes was located and arrested in Houston, Texas where he was jailed for the outstanding warrant. On February 21, he was extradited and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center where he remains with a $150,000 bond. The investigation of sexual assault continues, and more charges are possible.
