At 12:53 PM on August 31, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a disturbance at the 9700 Block of Dayton Road in Mooringsport. Deputies were informed that an 83-year-old man named Billy C. Ashby, who lives in that area, had fired a handgun at two individuals following an argument. Fortunately, nobody was injured. Deputies located Ashby at his residence and arrested him on two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm. He was then taken to Caddo Correctional Center and booked on the aforementioned charges.
