Burglary suspects arrested with goods still in car

Two men were arrested for committing a burglary in south Shreveport Wednesday after a sheriff's patrol deputy found their getaway car with the goods still inside, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Neikedrian Edwards, 21, of the 6100 block of Bert Kouns, and Martez George, 20, of the 2700 block of Frostwood, were booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.Edwards was also booked for two burglaries that occurred in 2010.

Sheriff's deputies were alerted after witnesses to the burglary yesterday noticed an unfamiliar white Lincoln Town Car parked at a neighbor's house in the 10000 block of Linwood. A man exited the car and went into the backyard, returning moments later with a large flat screen TV.

A vehicle description was broadcast to sheriff's deputies, and a short while later, Sgt. Stacy Cowgill spotted a similar vehicle on Grimmett Drive. Cowgill stopped the vehicle, and while speaking with the driver, noticed a large flat screen TV in the rear seat. Both men were taken into custody.

Edwards was also arrested for two residential burglaries that occurred in the 400 block of Dixon Avenue on December 15 and December 21, 2010.

The burglaries were investigated by Detectives Terry Richardson and Andy Scoggins.
