Caddo Sheriff announces rifle sight-in days for the public

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator announced that the Sheriff's Training Academy firing range will be available to the public to sight in rifles for the upcoming deer season.

Four specific days have been designated for the public to make use of the law enforcement training facility:

1.Tuesday, October 2, 7 a.m. until noon;
2.Thursday, October 4, 7 a.m. until noon;
3.Saturday, October 6, 7 a.m. until noon;
4.Saturday, October 13, 7:30 – 11 a.m.

State-certified instructors will work one-on-one with shooters to prepare for the upcoming rifle season. Participants must call ahead and reserve a time to meet with instructors.

Targets will be furnished, but shooters must provide their own ammunition.They are also asked to arrive with unloaded weapons and must bring eye and ear protection. 

The Academy is located at 15639 Hwy. One South, directly in front of Lock and Dam #5.For additional information or to register, call the Academy at 681-0735.
