Two arrested in aggravated burglary

The Caddo Sheriff’s Office arrested two people today in connection with an aggravated burglary that occurred in the 1000 block of Riding Club Lane, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Michael Hare, 32, and Whitney Picard, 24, were taken into custody just after 10 a.m. in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant on Hwy 1 at Hwy 538.Hare was arrested on a warrant charging him with aggravated burglary, and Picard was arrested on a warrant charging her as a principle to aggravated burglary. Both will be booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.

The couple had been the target of a search by local law enforcement since Tuesday when a 21-year-old woman said her door was kicked in and she was beaten by Hare. The woman said she was knocked unconscious and suffered facial injuries from the beating.

Both Hare and Picard knew the victim and had stayed overnight in her home, but they were put out of the home a few days before the aggravated burglary occurred.

The Caddo Sheriff’s Office Detective Division, Patrol Division, and the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force assisted with the arrest.
