The Caddo Sheriff’s Office has obtained an arrest warrant for a man wanted for rape and sexual battery involving juveniles, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Lloyd Karl Hastings, 53, of the 8100 block of Treyway in Shreveport, is currently in jail at the DeSoto Parish Detention Center after a 14-year-old girl disclosed to DeSoto sheriff’s deputies that Hastings had acted inappropriately with her. That investigation led to additional charges of illegal activity that occurred in Caddo Parish, where Hastings resides.

A subsequent investigation by Caddo Sheriff’s Detective James Moore resulted in arrest warrants being obtained for Hastings on two counts of sexual battery and one count of aggravated rape. Total bond on the three charges has been set at $100,000.

The cases involve three separate victims, all of whom were juveniles at the time of the offenses. In two of the cases the abuse occurred when the victims were as young as six. One case – the aggravated rape – dates back 30 years, Moore said.

Hastings will be transferred to Caddo Parish and officially charged with the offenses once his charge in DeSoto Parish is resolved.
