CPSO offers safety course for college-bound students

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator is hosting a one-day safety seminar designed especially for the college-bound student.

Professional instructors and law enforcement officers will provide crime prevention tips and safety techniques to keep students safe and help them succeed in college. 

The course will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, August 5, at the Caddo Sheriff's Re-Entry Facility located next to the Caddo Correctional Center at 1121 Forum Drive.

Participants will receive information on personal safety and self-defense, travel safety, distracted and impaired driving, protecting your identity and possessions, banking and finances, dating violence, sexual assault awareness, and drug and alcohol awareness.

The program is free and open to men and women. Seating is limited. To register, contact Deputy Vickie Johnson in the Caddo Sheriff's Community Programs Section at 681-0870 or 681-0875.
