A Shreveport man died today in an agricultural accident at the Gilliam Elevator in north Caddo Parish.

Ross Lynn, 33, was helping an electrician replace a motor on a silo on the Lynn family property when a tensioner broke causing Lynn to get tangled in the equipment. Witnesses said Lynn hit his head on a catwalk, although an official cause of death has not yet been determined.

The accident occurred just before 5 p.m. at the top of the silo, which is estimated to be between 80-100 feet high. Witnesses called 911 immediately. Caddo Fire District 7 and the Caddo Sheriff's Office responded, but Lynn was pronounced dead at the scene.
