A Texarkana, Arkansas, man was arrested tonight on a Caddo Parish Sheriff's warrant  for extorting Cole Vosbury, a contestant on the television music competition "The Voice."

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator said Harold Glen Martin spoke with Vosbury several months ago about performing at a benefit concert. The deal was never finalized, and Vosbury left the area to compete on "The Voice" in California. Once the program featuring Vosbury began airing on national TV, Martin threatened to defame Vosbury in the national media unless he agreed to perform multiple free concerts at Martin's discretion.

Caddo Sheriff's Detective Bobby Herring investigated the case and said there is no proof that Martin ever intended to produce a benefit concert. He also said Martin's threats were not based on truth and were only intended to bring negative publicity to Vosbury.

Herring obtained an arrest warrant for Martin earlier today, and Martin was arrested at his home by the Texarkana, Arkansas, Police Department. He is expected to be transferred to Caddo Parish on Tuesday.
