Caddo Sheriff announces mobile app

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced a new mobile app for Apple and Android phones and tablets to help citizens stay connected with law enforcement, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

The new app can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store by searching for Caddo Parish Sheriff.

With the app, citizens can view inmates currently in jail, check outstanding warrants, submit a tip by text or video, and receive emergency messages and alerts from the Sheriff’s Office. Other features include current CPSO news, a list of Sheriff’s Office contacts, directions/maps to Sheriff’s Office facilities, and information on sex offenders and missing children. The Sheriff’s Office can also use the app to geographically pinpoint specific neighborhoods to relay crime information to residents within that area.

The Caddo Sheriff’s Office is the first area law enforcement agency to offer this service to its citizens. “The app is a direct line of contact between the Sheriff’s Office and our citizens,” Sheriff Prator said. “It’s already proven to be a very useful tool for sending emergency notifications when we needed to relay information in a hurry.”

In addition to the app, citizens can connect with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s on Twitter (@cpso) and Facebook.
