Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Terry Richardson will be honored tonight by Caddo Masonic Lodge #179 for his dedication to duty and service to the citizens of Caddo Parish.

Richardson will be recognized during the Mason’s annual First Responder Night at 6:30 p.m. at the Creswell Masonic Temple, 1805 Creswell Avenue.

Richardson joined the Sheriff’s Office in March 2001 and transferred to the Detective Division in December 2003. Two months later, he was assigned the homicide case of victim Harold “Bruce” Cotton. During this investigation, Richardson developed information that led to the recent release of Louisiana Death Row inmate Glenn Ford.

Over the past 10 years, Richardson has continued to work the Cotton homicide case - which remains open - by reviewing reports, re-interviewing witnesses, and serving search warrants. “It’s fair to say a month hasn’t gone by that Terry hasn’t addressed this case in some way while still managing a full case load,” said supervisor Lt. Bill Rehak.

In addition to his work in investigations, Richardson has also served in the Sheriff’s Office Corrections Division and Patrol Bureau.
