Local law enforcement will resume their search this morning for a man missing in the Red River after he jumped from a bridge Thursday night.

Caddo deputies said just before 9 p.m. a group of four men were on the sandbar south of the railroad bridge near Stoner Avenue when two of the men decided to jump off the bridge. After jumping, one of the men made it back to the river bank but the other got into trouble and began yelling for help. His friend tried to assist but couldn't locate the man in the water.

Deputies and firefighters from the Caddo and Bossier Sheriff's Offices and Shreveport and Bossier City Fire Departments searched for the man until after midnight but could not locate him. The search will resume this morning.

The missing man has been identified as Desmond Desdunes, 22, of Shreveport.
