Sheriff Prator provides safety course for college-bound students

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator is helping students prepare for their college send-off by offering a one-day safety course addressing issues that specifically apply to them.

The course will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., August 6, at Sheriff's Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue.

Professional instructors and law enforcement officers will provide important crime prevention tips and safety techniques presented especially for students in a college setting.

Participants will receive information on personal safety and self-defense, travel safety, distracted and impaired driving, protecting your identity and possessions, banking and finances, dating violence, and sexual assault awareness.

The program is open to men and women. There is no charge for the course, but seating is limited. To register, contact Deputy Vickie Johnson in the Caddo Sheriff’s Community Programs Section at 681-0870 or 681-0875.
