A Winnfield man was ticketed this morning for disregarding a barricade aimed at keeping drivers off a still-icy I-49 North, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Around 8:30 a.m., Gordon Beauboues, 60, called the Sheriff’s Office to report that his 18-wheeler was stuck on the I-49 shoulder after he tried to turn around to avoid the icy bridge. Beauboues went around a barricade at North Market and I-49 heading north on the road that is still officially closed by the state. Lt. Michael Gray issued Beauboues a citation for disregarding signs and barricades.

Deputies said a thick layer of ice remains on the road and bridge over 12 Mile Bayou northbound and on other areas of the interstate. Those roadways remain closed for the safety of motorists and DOTD crews who are working in affected areas.

Deputies will monitor the closed areas and continue to cite drivers who ignore the barricades.
