Juvenile charged in break-ins

A Shreveport teen has been charged by Caddo detectives in connection with two recent break-ins.

Detective Terry Richardson arrested the 14-year-old juvenile for simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling after the teen entered a residence in the 200 block of Al Lane and took a metal toolbox containing money and the homeowner's personal papers.

Further investigation of the burglary connected the teen to another break-in the 1100 block of Oak Grove Lane. In that case, the juvenile is accused of throwing a brick through a bedroom window to enter the residence. He searched the house for money, but found none and left. He was charged with unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and simple criminal damage to property.

Sheriff's detectives are looking for a second suspect in connection with the break-in on Oak Grove Lane. Detectives say several days after the teen broke the window, he and 31-year-old Quincy Thomas returned to the house. On this occasion, Thomas entered the house alone while the juvenile waited outside as a lookout.
Richardson obtained a warrant charging Thomas with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

Anyone with information about Thomas' location is urged to contact the Sheriff's Office at 675-2170 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
