The Caddo Sheriff's Marine Unit has recovered the body of a man who authorities believe jumped from the Texas Street Bridge on Thursday, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Deputy Casey Jones, who is assigned to the Marine Unit, located the body around 9 a.m. this morning about one mile south of the Texas Street bridge and just north of the railroad bridge. Jones had been on river patrol about an hour when he spotted the body in the water along the bank.  

The body was recovered and turned over to the Caddo Parish  Coroner's Office. The case is being investigated by the Shreveport Police Department.
