Robert Jump, deputy director of the Caddo Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness recently received the Louisiana Emergency Preparedness Association’s 2015 President’s Award for exceptional service and dedication, according to Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

The Sheriff was on hand at the annual LEPA awards luncheon in Lake Charles this past Thursday to see Jump receive the award.  The President’s Award is a prestigious honor bestowed once a year by LEPA’s outgoing president at the annual banquet.

“Robert is very deserving of this state honor,” Prator said. “He has served our area and the state with experience and knowledge during several disasters, and I’m very happy to say he represents Caddo Parish and our Sheriff’s Office.”

LEPA is a non-profit statewide organization of emergency preparedness and response practitioners who share a common goal of improving public safety in emergencies.

Jump has served in the emergency preparedness field for 12 years. He was appointed deputy director of the Caddo Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness in July. As deputy director, he is responsible for the coordination of emergency operations for all of the parish’s 254,000 residents, including managing all mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery efforts for the parish.
