Stonewall man charged with two counts of armed robbery

A Stonewall man was arrested by the Caddo Sheriff's Office for robbing the same Circle K convenience store twice in two days.

Tony Culverhouse, 18, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on two counts of armed robbery. Sheriff's Detective Jason Morgan arrested Culverhouse on Wednesday night following a joint investigation with Shreveport Police.

Culverhouse is accused of robbing the Circle K at 11730 Mansfield Road in Caddo Parish on August 2 and again on August 3. In both cases, he used a knife to threaten the attendant. In the second robbery, the attendant took the knife from Culverhouse as the suspect tried to hold onto his weapon and several full shopping bags of stolen cigarettes and money during the robbery.

Also on August 2, a similar armed robbery was reported in Shreveport. Security video of that robbery was released to the media, and a tip about the suspect's identity was received through Crime Stoppers. The tip was passed on to sheriff's deputies who located Culverhouse and connected him to evidence recovered from the Circle K robberies by the sheriff's Crime Scene Investigations Unit.

More charges against Culverhouse are expected.
