A man who claimed to be a youth mentor was arrested Friday for molestation of a juvenile, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Jeremy Tyrone Sims, 34, of the 3200 block of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, turned himself in at the Caddo Correctional Center on a warrant obtained by Juvenile Detective Cpl. Dorothy Brooks Carter.

Carter said Sims began having sex with the girl several years ago when she was 14 after convincing her family that he was a youth mentor.

The investigation is continuing.
