Four CPSO deputies to receive promotions

Four Caddo Sheriff’s deputies will receive promotions during an 8:30 a.m. ceremony tomorrow at the Re-Entry Facility, 1121 Forum Drive.

Avery Leary and David Robinson are being promoted to lieutenant while Carlos Walker and Donnie Laney are being promoted to sergeant.

Leary is a 17-year CPSO deputy who has worked in Corrections, Patrol, Narcotics, and Training. He has also served as a member of the Sheriff’s Special Response Team and is a U.S. Army veteran. Leary will be the lieutenant at the Training Academy.

Robinson joined the Sheriff’s Office in July 1996 and has served in Corrections, Patrol, Youth Services, and Internal Affairs. He has been a Field Training Officer, is on the Sheriff’s Special Response Team, and is a U.S. Army veteran. He will now serve as the lieutenant over Criminal Records and Permits in Operations Support.

Walker was hired by the Sheriff’s Office in September 1999. He has been assigned to Corrections and Narcotics and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Walker is being promoted to sergeant in Corrections.

Laney joined the Sheriff’s Office in March 1996. He has served in Corrections, where he was on the Emergency Response Team, Patrol, and in the Criminal Investigations Division. He also was a Field Training Officer and is a U.S. Air Force vet. Laney is being promoted to sergeant in Internal Affairs. 

Several employees will be recognized for their years of service with the Sheriff’s Office. They are Tammy Bullock, William Fletcher, Brian Johnson, and Alvin Slay, five years; Maxine Williams, Garnette Darby, Terry Richardson, Clyde Williams, Maurice Whitten, LaTasha Richardson, and Debra Darby, 15 years; Leonard Scoggins, Chris Bane, Kevin Stewart, Donnie Laney, Phyllis Walker, and Jason Hughes, 20 years; and Pat Sepulvado, 25 years.
