Caddo Parish has been added to a list of parishes declared a major disaster by President Barack Obama, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

The Caddo Sheriff's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness was notified today that the Louisiana Govenor's request to add Caddo was accepted by FEMA. 

The declaration makes available federal aid to help residents and businesses in affected areas. Temporary housing, money for home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other forms of aid will be available.
