Shot clinics to open for Caddo/Shreveport flood victims

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, Office of Public Health, will offer free tetanus shots to Caddo/Shreveport citizens who have been exposed to flood waters but do not have access to preventative health through a regular medical facility or practitioner.

The shot clinics will be open Friday, March 18, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Caddo Sheriff’s Office north substation, 11141 Hwy. One in Oil City, and from 3-8 p.m. at Sheriff’s Safety Town, 8910 Jewella Avenue in Shreveport.

Free shots are also available to first responders and those who have helped with clean-up efforts. Health officials say a tetanus shot is not necessary if you have had one in the past 10 years.
