Five deputies promoted

           Five Caddo Sheriff’s deputies received promotions during an 8:30 a.m. ceremony today, May 17, at the Re-Entry Facility in Shreveport.

            Don Gibbs was promoted to captain, Alan Davidson and Darin Marshall were promoted to lieutenant, and Matthew Cowden and Lisa Jones were promoted to sergeant.

            Gibbs is a 26-year CPSO deputy who has worked in Corrections, Public Information, Patrol, and Community Programs. He will serve over Community Programs and Communications.

            Davidson has worked with the Sheriff’s Office for 27 years in Corrections, Bailiffs, Patrol, Detectives, and the Marine Unit. He was supervisor of the CPSO Dive Team. He will also serve in Community Programs.

            Marshall is the new supervisor of the Narcotics Unit. He is a 21-year deputy, having worked in Corrections, Patrol, and Narcotics, where he was supervisor over mid-level investigations. He also served on the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, and is a U.S. Army veteran.

            Cowden joined the Sheriff’s Office in December 2006 and has served in Corrections, Patrol, and Training.

            Jones was hired by the Sheriff’s Office in January 2004. She has worked in Corrections and Training.

            Both Cowden and Jones will remain in Training.

            Several employees were recognized for their years of service with the Sheriff’s Office. They are Larry Pierce, Jr., Joe Lars, Jr., Curtis Samuels, John Berry, and Magalene Boykin, five years; Roshonda Linnear-Wells, Ted Grant, Nicole Mayfield, and Laura Fredieu, 10 years; Carolyn Robinson, 15 years; Annie Thomas, Gwet Folsom, and Carolyn Peterson, 20 years; Cole Flournoy, 25 years; Sam Hall and Ronnie Holt, 30 years.
