The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who climbed atop a historic monument on the Courthouse grounds and damaged part of the sculpture, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

The 30-foot granite and marble monument is located on the north side of the Courthouse and is enclosed by a decorative fence. Standing on the top step in front of the monument, facing inward is a life-size white marble depiction of Clio, the muse of History.

Just after midnight on June 10, a man approached the monument with a musical instrument similar to a trumpet. He appeared to play the horn while facing the monument and again on the steps of the Courthouse. He then climbed over the fence and used the right arm of the Clio statue to get his footing while climbing on top of the monument. The arm was broken off in the process.

Sheriff’s deputies are looking for the man for trespassing. If you can help identify him, call Lt. Mark Terry at 422-9283 or Caddo-Shreveport Crime Stoppers at 673-7373.
