Caddo Sheriff’s Cpl. William Mikesell was honored Thursday by the Caddo Lodge #179 F&AM for his service to the local community.

Mikesell was presented with the First Responder of the Year Award by Larry Hawkins, Worshipful Master of Caddo Lodge #179. He was recognized for outstanding leadership and diligent service to the citizens of Caddo Parish.

Mikesell has served with the Caddo Sheriff’s Office for 25 years. Since joining the department in 1991, he has worked in Corrections, Patrol, Narcotics, Youth Services, and Civil. He has also served as a field training officer for new deputies on Patrol and is currently a member of the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team, which provides peer support to police officers and emergency responders involved in stressful or traumatic incidents. He serves as a patrol deputy in the Blanchard area.
