Meth lab discovered in Vivian

Caddo deputies discovered a meth lab today while investigating a person for making a threatening phone call.

Deputies went to 316 West Mississippi in Vivian to question 38-year-old Nathan Davis Jr., also known as Jeff Whorley, about making threatening phone calls in a domestic battery case.

During the investigation, deputies observed meth in plain site at the residence. Davis then admitted having a meth lab in an ice chest located on the back porch of the residence. Davis does not live at the residence but sometimes visits there.

Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Gray said approximately $1,000 worth of meth was recovered from Davis' personal belongings at the house. Gray confirmed that a portion of the manufacturing process had taken place at the residence.

Davis was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for improper communications by telephone, possession of schedule II with intent to distribute, creation of a clandestine lab within 1,000 feet of a school, and illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile.

Earlier today, deputies arrested Douglas Tems, 40, and charged him with domestic abuse battery and possession of methamphetamine. After the arrest, Tems' girlfriend reported Davis placed the threatening phone call to her.
